Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) testing involves the determination of in situ strength (CBR) of the various unbound layers of a pavement by measuring the rate of penetration of a standard cone through the material.
The measurement can also identify the boundaries between layers of different strength and hence the thickness of each layer.
